Renters
BOOK A VACATION PROPERTY
Once you have selected your ideal vacation property, review all
the details including your travel dates and rental costs. If you
like what you see, you are now ready to confirm property availability.
Once availability is confirmed, you can then make your booking reservation.
- First, you need to confirm if your selected vacation property
is available for your requested dates. You can do this by clicking
Check Availability – located on your Shopping Cart page
or the Property Details page.
- After you click Check Availability, your request will be sent
to the property owner. Once confirmed, you will be notified by
email.
(2a) If your email confirmation tells you that the property
is not available for your requested dates, you may select another
property to request availability.
Note: when indicating your specific travel
dates to check for availability, you also have the option to
include any travel date flexibilities to further increase the
chances for availability.
(2b) If your email confirmation tells you that the property
is available, you will be prompted to return to your shopping
cart on bcvacationproperties.com to respond. You will need to
login first to get to your shopping cart. From here, you can
review the property details again and click “Book This
Property” to request a reservation booking.
Note: Once you receive notice that the property
is available, you should not delay to login to bcvacationproperties.com
to book the property. Otherwise, the property may no longer
be available if too much time passes.
- If you select Book This Property, your request will be confirmed
by email. Once confirmed, your booking reservation is finalized.
BOOK A VACATION PROPERTY - PAYMENT
Each property owner lists their own published rental rates and
policies. BC Vacation Properties does not add any additional fees
to those charged by the owner. Based on your specified travel dates,
the following rate information is included with each property:
- Total nightly, weekly or monthly rate
- Extra occupant fee (if applicable)
- Extra pet fee (if applicable)
- Cleaning fee (if applicable)
- Sub total
- Standard booking fee (paid by owner)
- Reservation deposit amount (plus taxes, if required)
- Future balance due amount (plus taxes, if required)
Once you have indicated your travel dates, you will see the actual
total rental rate and any other applicable charges. You will also
be given details regarding how much the reservation deposit will
be and the future billing balance due.
After you have received an email confirmation that the property
requested is available for your stated travel dates, you have the
option to request a booking. To confirm a booking, you click “Book
This Property” and you will be prompted to provide your contact
and credit card information. This information is provided to the
property owner or agent only after they have agreed to your reservation
by email.
Once your booking is confirmed, the property owner or agent will
contact you directly. You, the renter, will receive an emailed letter
of confirmation along with the property owner or agent’s contact
information. From this point forward, you may direct all communications
between you and the property owner or agent.
Your credit card will be charged a standard 10% booking fee. This
fee is not an additional fee to you, the renter. The property owner
absorbs this fee by collecting only 90% of the balance owing.
The property owner or agent will charge your credit card for the
agreed and specified reservation deposit or total amount due at
the time of booking. Any additional payment requirements are handled
directly between the renter and the property owner or agent.
Note: The renter’s personal and credit card
information is on an encrypted and secure page for safe transmission
over the internet. We collect this information for the sole purpose
of providing it to the property owner to secure the renter’s
booking of that property.
