RESERVATIONS
What is the process once a Renter selects your vacation property?
- The Renter will click Check Availability – located on
their Shopping Cart page or the Property Details page.
- The Check Availability request will be sent to you, the property
owner or designated agent, by email. This email will notify you
that you have an availability request and prompt you to login
to retrieve the detailed notice.
- The availability request will ask you to indicate if your property
is available for the requested dates. You simply click yes or
no where indicated.
Note: In addition to renters indicating their
specific requested travel dates, they may also choose the option
to include travel date flexibilities to further increase the
chances for availability.
Note: It is important that Owner replies are
done at your earliest convenience to avoid the risk of the Renter
finding another property.
- When a Renter receives confirmation that your property is available,
they will then request a Booking Reservation. The Owner will then
receive notice by email and be prompted to login to confirm acceptance
or rejection of this booking. When you have confirmed acceptance,
the booking reservation is finalized.
RESERVATION PAYMENT
Each property owner lists their own published rental rates and
policies. BC Vacation Properties does not add any additional fees
to the renter. Both the Renter and Owner receive a detailed breakdown
of all information for the reservation.
The following information is provided:
- Clients contact and credit card information
- Property owner or agent contact information
- Guest arrival and departure travel dates
- Total number of occupants
- Total nightly, weekly or monthly rate
- Extra occupant fee (if applicable)
- Extra pet fee (if applicable)
- Cleaning fee (if applicable)
- Sub total
- Standard booking fee (10% plus 7% GST)
- Reservation deposit amount
- Taxes (if applicable)
- Future balance due amount
- Taxes (if applicable)
Once the reservation booking is confirmed, the property owner or
agent will contact the guest directly from this point on.
The guest’s credit card will be charged our standard 10%
booking fee plus 7% GST tax. This fee is calculated on the Sub Total.
The property owner collects the 90% of the balance owing.
The property owner or agent will charge the guest's credit card
for the agreed and specified reservation deposit or total amount
due at time of booking. These payments are handled directly between
the renter and the property owner or agent.
Note: The renter’s personal and credit card
information is on an encrypted and secure page for safe transmission
over the internet. We collect this information for the sole purpose
of providing it to the property owner to secure the renter’s
booking of your property.
